The disassembling of iPhone Charger

Apple is famous for its attention to details. The internal and external design of Apple's all products let people unable to stop loving. All products design concepts are the same, no matter 1200 usd MacBook Pro or 30 usd iPhone chargers. In fact, Apple iPhone charger internal design is very complex and high-end. This lets the iPhone charger is more efficient and more safety. This is one of the reasons why iPhone charger's price is higher than other mobile phone brand charger. Ken Shirrff recently disassembles the iPhone charger and makes a detailed analysis of its internal structure.

IPhone charger can open and close input power for 70000 times every second to output the correct voltage. From the above, we can see that the iPhone charger contain two circuit boards. Above and below the circuit board is square. The upper circuit board is the main components which can control high voltage and input current, the below circuit board control low voltage and output current. The size of these circuits is very small, but the structure is very complex.

In order to reduce EMI interference, Apple took a lot of work in the study of iPhone charger. It also contains components which many competitors' chargers don't have. Input current filter through the ferrite on the plastic casing, and output power DiodeBridge consists of two large capacitors and an inductor composition. In addition, Apple uses the super AC pin and complex overheat/overvoltage protection circuit to ensure the safety of the iPhone charger.

Apple uses a variety of high-tech components in iPhone charger which make the competitor's products looks low-end. But the cost of this kind of high-tech art is very high; this is why iPhone charger is so expensive.
