The industry news outgoing on September 6th
releases that Apple has produced the iPhone5 initial new models available to
the world's major news agencies, but Samsung has not received the relevant
parts orders. Apple has replaced the originally flash memory (NAND Flash) and
D-ram supplier Samsung by SK Hynix (Hynix), Japan
It is reported that Apple will replace the
new models battery supplier by the ATL and Japan Sanyo. Industry stakeholders
said, Samsung Electronics was selected as supplier for Apple's new models of
memory chips, but in the first batch of one million or even up to ten million
iPhone5 phone supplied, Samsung has not received orders. So is Samsung SDI, although
it was selected as a cooperative company, but not yet received orders.
The application processor (Application
Processor AP) which is called "minds of intelligent machine" has
always been ordered to Samsung. Electronic industry stakeholders explained that,
"Apple is waging a patent war with Samsung in countries, and the
relationship between the two companies is deteriorating. So, Apple has declined
parts orders to Samsung Electronics since last year. As the opportunity of iPhone5
new models, Apple replaced a large-scale of original parts supplied by Samsung
supplier.
At the beginning of this year, Apple had
tried to change the "New iPad" panel supplier for Sharp and LG
Display, but it suffered due to the quality of products produced by the two
companies. The British IT specialist funds “Polly Capital” manager Fan·Lo Gaopu forecasts that, as the quality of the parts
directly affects the quality of products, it is difficult for Apple to
completely cut off the trading cooperation with Samsung ".
There has been 40% of the total price of
the iPhone parts provided by Samsung before. Apple has bought scale of about 10
trillion won of Samsung Electronics semiconductor parts in 2011, equivalent to
about 6% of Samsung Electronics sales.
